Thank you everyone who has visited the new community portal over the past week. We are still in Beta Mode, but I'm sure you've already realized just how fantastic the site is going to be. This has been an information filled week and we already have several events on the News Channel...
As we prepare to officially launch the site we hope that you will continue to spread the word for us. If you know someone who is in business and you think they would benefit from a comprehensive marketing program please encourage them to contact us about our Partners program.
We've already added this week 5 New Features that I think are fantastic and I wanted to make everyone aware of them. First, I'd like to share what our vision is. If you can imaging a mini town online that's what we want. We want for this to be a portal where if anyone is looking for information on the Toombs-Montgomery area they can find it from links to city and county services to what's going on in the community. Once upon a time newspapers were a place that you could send your news releases about your Girl Scout and Boy Scout events as they happened. We want to be the place that you will send us what you are up to with your civic projects and we hope to help you spread the word about your community oriented events. We also want to help impact our local economy by helping small businesses not only share their goods and services with members of our community, but also to help them spread the word into the surrounding areas to encourage tourism. Our vision is a big one we hope that you will help us by participating in all of the free opportunities we have for you.
#1 - Beautiful Babies- If you're proud new parents please send us your birth announcements with a photo so we can help you brag on your new addition.
#2- News & Events- This week we incorporated both an Agenda Style Calendar and a form that you can fill out to let us know about your event. If you have photos you'll have to email those to us but otherwise you can use the form. Our Calendar is also printable!
#3-Precious Pets- We love our pets and we know that you love yours. We'd love to feature your special pet on our page.
#4-We have a Facebook Page that you can share and like!
#5-Our Outdoor Sports page now has links for buying hunting/fishing license as well as access to hunting maps, fishing maps and boating maps....+++ We plan on being a go-to source for hunting and fishing news for the sportsman.
#6-Of Local Interest Magazine-Digital Edition Available on Thursdays!

-A Page where you can list your Yard Sales completely free and they will be available for folks to print out and take with them shopping on Friday and Saturday.
